RC4 Technical Support

"The RC4-MSS heartbeat-based E-Stop cannot be detected with a stethoscope."

Where do you need a wireless lamp or motor today?

"We wired up an old truck and a fire barrel with RC4 dimmers. I'd like to stress how pleased we have been with the RC4, and with the service you provide - thank you!"

What is RC4 Wireless?

Your DMX lighting console controls the RC4 just like your other dimmers.

CV Inputs Also Provided

Control Voltage (CV) inputs are also provided. Ideal for non-lighting wireless applications, they can be interfaced to your automation system, or connected to simple custom-built control panels with rotary controls, sliders, pushbuttons and switches.

The RC4 Transmitter processes and broadcasts incoming DMX and CV data. It also provides the user interface for all transmitter and receiver functions. It can configure and control up to 128 unique receivers, each with four independent dimmers.

RC4 Wireless is a digital radio control system for arts and entertainment. Designed from the ground up for the rigors and demands of live shows, the RC4 makes it easy to put lamps, motors, solenoids, relays, and ac inverters just about anywhere, with no power or data wires running to them. The RC-Series has been available since 1991 and is used by Disney, Cirque du Soleil, on Broadway, and by many others across North America and around the world.

Think of RC4 Wireless as a rack of up to 128 specialized dimmers.

The control section of these dimmers is rack-mounted, with an easy-to-use interface for setting various parameters of each dimmer.

The dimmers themselves — the power handlers — are controlled by digital radio, powered by batteries, and fit in your hand. There are four dimmers in each portable unit. They can drive anything that can be powered from a battery. Radio range exceeds 300 feet, ideal for indoor spaces of up to 100,000 square feet.

Use RC4 dimmers to control lamps in hard-to-reach places, or safely drive motors in remote-controlled vehicles. You can also power solenoids, relays, inverters... you name it.

RC4 Wireless uses bi-directional spread-spectrum digital radio to transfer three types of data:
• Dimmer Levels are constantly transmitted at up to 100 frames per second.
• Dimmer Setup Information is transmitted whenever a dimmer configuration is changed.
• Dimmer Status Information is returned from remote dimmers to confirm configuration changes and report battery voltage, temperature, firmware version, and more.

RC4 remote dimmers get their power from portable batteries and directly drive up to four DC loads. Remote system wiring is vastly simplified by integrating radios and dimmers.
