RC6-1MOT Remote Motor Driver

One or more RC6-1MOT Motor Drivers are what turn RC6 digital control signals into power and motion.  The 1MOT is capable of delivering very high currents at voltages from 6V – 30VDC, 24V typical.  (Most projects to-date have utilized 24V motors designed for the personal mobility vehicle market: electric wheelchairs.)

High power outputs are provided for a motor, an electric brake, a main-contactor (safety shutoff) relay, and an auxiliary device.  All power outputs are electronically protected against overload and overheating.

The main-contactor driver is controlled by an independent and autonomous Motion Safety System detector circuit that is in no way dependent on the rest of the controller or its firmware to operate.  The entire RC6 system from transmitter control input, through the air, to the RemTrans receiver, through cables to the 1MOT, must be in good working order for the required MSS heartbeat to successfully arrive at the MSS detector.  If the heartbeat fails to arrive (or is compromised in some way) the main-contactor relay is opened.

The 1MOT also provides inputs for several limit switches and a high-resolution rotary encoder.  In servo-control mode, the motor/driver/encoder integrate into a high-efficiency servo-loop positioning system.  Servo tuning is accomplished from the front panel of the 1MOT, with access to numerous parameters typical of a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) loop, including gain of each PID parameter, maximum integral error, and much more.

Firmware for the RC6-1MOT is structured for easy configuration, modification, and customization.  We work with you to determine what features and functions are required.

All RC6 systems are custom built to order.
