RC5io Data Transceiver

The RC5io data transceiver is small, rugged, and reliable.  Delivered in a slim die-cast aluminum chassis, it is easily mounted just about anywhere.  Data in and out are provided with male and female 5-pin XLR connectors.  Antennas can be directly mounted to the RC5 unit, or a cable can be used to position an antenna in an more optimal position.

By holding a recessed button on power-up, the RC5io can be configured to be a transmitter or receiver.  It can also be set to AT Mode where it will communicate with a PC for configuration, diagnostics, or Spectrum Analyzer.  When operating as a Spectrum Analyzer, the unit cannot be used as a DMX device.  RF activity is displayed in an easy-to-read and familiar graphical format.

When functioning as a DMX transmitter or receiver, the RC5io can simultaneously communicate with a PC running RadioNetwork software.  From there, every radio operating within an RC5 network can be accessed, analyzed, and configured.  Status queries take place without interrupting the DMX data stream and can be used during a running show.

RF output power can be adjusted over a wide range, from very low up to 1W.  At maximum power, with appropriate antennas, RC5 easily works over a distance of many miles.  RC5io units are used extensively at Disneyland, in Anaheim, California, to distribute DMX data throughout the theme park.
