The CS1 is a small, full-featured, RDM-capable*, portable DMX console with RC4Magic wireless built-in. It provides 11 long-throw faders configurable in a variety of ways (11 channel faders; 10 faders plus master; 8 faders, 2 subs, 1 master). In addition to being a handy control surface, it provides all the features of our popular DMXio transceiver — it can transmit an incoming DMX universe, or receive a full universe for wired output. Use the CS1 with your main console as your RC4Magic transmitter during a show. During a work call, use it as a portable DMX controller with both wireless and 5-pin XLR outputs.
Along with 11 faders, the CS1 provides push switches that are assignable to DMX channels as bump buttons, or can be used for quick selection of various CS1 features.
Eleven 0-10V control-voltage (CV) inputs make it easy to interface the CS1 to an automation system, or custom made external knobs, sliders, and switches. Three-position toggle switches for each of the 11 control channels select between the built-in CS1 fader, channel off, or an external CV source. The combination of faders and/or toggle switches is ideal when using the CS1, along with RC4Magic receiver-dimmers, as a wireless cue-light controller.
An SD memory card slot is provided for file storage, supporting DMX record/playback*, save/recall of CS1 configurations, and firmware updating.
With fully bidirectional DMX circuitry, the CS1 is also a Remote Device Management (RDM) controller. In this mode, functions and features are easily and quicky accessible using all of the CS1 top surface controls, including a continuous-turn rotary control and 16 x 2 character LCD display.
Internal Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries deliver 4 – 6 hours of continuous use per charge. Unlike many other rechargeable products, the CS1 uses readily available AA-size batteries that are user serviceable. Built-in charger circuitry ensure batteries are well managed, charged reasonably quickly, and never overcharged.
